SMITHKLINE WILL RE-INTRODUCE TAGAMET HB IN 200 MG TABLETS to help solidify the Rx-to-OTC switch antacid in the face of withering competition in the marketplace, CEO Jan Leschly reported at Bear Stearn's annual health care conference in New York on Sept. 12. Tagamet HB (cimetidine), although initially marketed in 100 mg tablets, carries a recommended dosage of 200 mg twice daily for the prevention and relief of heartburn, acid indigestion and sour stomach.
