Selfcare: Completes initial public offering of 1.3 mil. shares at $8.50 a share, the firm announces Aug. 6. The Waltham, Mass.-based maker of "self-test" diagnostics for diabetes, women's health and infectious diseases plans to use the proceeds for R&D, working capital and "other general corporate purposes, including the possible repayment of certain indebtedness and possible acquisitions," the firm states.
