HOUSE FDA REFORM NATIONAL UNIFORMITY PROVISION DOES NOT PRE-EMPT STATE TORT LAW under an amendment to the drugs and biologics bill (HR 3199) sponsored by Rep. Richard Burr (R-N.C.). According to a revised draft bill released July 10, "nothing in the [national uniformity] section shall be construed to modify or otherwise affect any action or the liability of any person under the generally applicable tort law of any state."
