LOW-IRON INFANT FORMULAS NOT NEEDED, INFANT FORMULA COUNCIL ADVISES at a May 31 public meeting held by the Life Sciences Research Office of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, which is reviewing infant formula nutrient content standards and term infant nutritional needs at the request of FDA. In its written and oral presentations, IFC declared that "there is no nutritional or medical need" for formulas with less than 1 mg/100 kcal of iron.
