BOTANICAL LABEL STRENGTHS CAN BE "VERY CONFUSING" AND "MISLEADING" to consumers, FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research Division of Antiviral Drug Products Supervisory Chemist Chi-Wan Chen, PhD, said at an April 9-10 botanicals workshop sponsored by the Drug Information Association in Washington, D.C. Chen is a member of a CDER working group that is developing a guidance document for industry on how to file an application to either test or market a botanical drug. The group consists of chemists, pharmacologists and clinicians.
