Executive Summary
INFANT FORMULA REQUIREMENTS FOR SELENIUM, CHROMIUM, MOLYBDENUM and fluoride will be considered by the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology's Life Sciences Research Office under a contract with FDA, the agency announced in a March 5 Federal Register notice. As part of a broad review of the nutritional needs of term infants and current formula requirements, FASEB will look at the available information on the dietary essentiality of the four minerals to determine whether they should be included in infant formulas and, if so, in what amounts.
