Executive Summary
LABELING-RELATED PROBLEMS RESPONSIBLE FOR 17% OF OTC PRODUCT RECALLS during the three years from 1993 through 1995. Of the 184 OTC products recalled during that period, 31, or 17%, were pulled from the market because of labeling/packaging mix-ups. Problems with product containers led to 23 recalls, while seven recalls were caused by problems with cartons and one recall was caused by a package insert.
