NSAID/breast cancer study: Ohio State University study concludes that NSAIDs "may have chemopreventive potential against the development of breast cancer." Researchers, led by Ohio's Randall Harris, screened 1,534 women without breast cancer and 511 women with newly diagnosed breast cancer for NSAID use according to type, frequency of intake and duration of use. The researchers determined that risk declined with increasing NSAID exposure; the greatest risk reduction (40%) coincided with daily intake for five or more years.
