Carter-Wallace: The closing of the Trenton, N.J. Trojan condom manufacturing plant and shifting of its operations to the Chesterfield, Va. facility is on schedule, the firm says, and expected to be complete in 10-14 months. The Chesterfield plant, which was bought last April, is being expanded by 133,000 sq. ft. to 200,000 sq. ft. With the consolidation, Carter-Wallace will lay off about 460 employees in Trenton but will add around 300 workers in Chesterfield, where it currently employs 208.
