DIETARY SUPPLEMENT NUTRITION LABELING TYPE SIZE SET AT EIGHT-POINT TYPE -- with six-point type for column headings and foot-notes -- for packages with more than 40 square inches of total surface area available for labeling. FDA made the eight-point type recommendation in a proposed rule published on Dec. 28 concerning nutrition labeling of dietary supplements ("The Tan Sheet" Jan. 1, pp. 16-22).
