Executive Summary
ACETAMINOPHEN RECOMMENDED AS FIRST-LINE DRUG THERAPY FOR OSTEOARTHRITIS of the hip and knee in guidelines released on Oct. 23 by the American College of Rheumatology. The guidelines, the first of their kind, state that acetaminophen at doses of up to 4,000 mg/day is the recommended initial drug for systemic treatment of symptomatic osteoarthritis (OA) of the hip and knee.
