Arkansas ephedrine rule: The Arkansas Department of Health's proposal to restrict sale of OTC ephedrine (including d-pseudoephedrine and Ma Huang) has been delayed. Arkansas Health Department Counsel George Harper notified the agency in a Sept. 8 letter that changes in the wording of the proposal necessitate a re-review. He noted, however, that "should there be a need to expedite the implementation of this rulemaking, it is permissible for the state board of health to adopt emergency rules and regulations under certain specified conditions."
