DIETARY SUPPLEMENT "TRUTHFUL," "NONMISLEADING" HEALTH CLAIMS WOULD BE ALLOWED in labeling and advertising under legislation introduced by Rep. Frank Pallone (D-N.J.) on June 28. The "Food and Dietary Supplement Consumer Information Act of 1995" (HR 1951) would allow food and dietary supplement manufacturers to "communicate truthful, nonmisleading information to consumers concerning the nutritional content and disease prevention benefits of their products," a description of the bill states.
