VITAMIN E SUPPLEMENTATION MAY SLOW PROGRESSION OF CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE, a subgroup analysis of the data-base acquired in the Cholesterol Lowering Atherosclerosis Study (CLAS) suggests. CLAS was a randomized, placebo-controlled, serial angiographic clinical trial designed to evaluate the effect of cholesterol-lowering agents colestipol and niacin on coronary artery disease progression. The study, supported by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, was published in the June 21 Journal of the American Medical Association.
