CRN RECOMMENDS GMPS FOR DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS OVER HACCP MODEL in Dec. 2 comments on FDA's notice of proposed rulemaking on development of a hazard analysis critical control point (HACCP) system for the food industry. The Council for Responsible Nutrition said it "does not believe the HACCP model is as appropriate as the [good manufacturing practices] model for dietary supplements -- at least for vitamin/mineral supplements in solid dose forms or other related dosage forms."
