Executive Summary

Publishes notice of a proposal in the most recent Pharmacopeial Forum that would eliminate the requirement that listing of USP ingredients and non- USP ingredients be segregated on nutritional supplement labels. USP said it proposed the rule "in order to harmonize" with FDA's Jan. 4, 1994 final rulings on dietary supplements. The proposal also would require that nutritional supplement products meeting USP standards contain one or more "recognized ingredients" rather than the previous two or more requirement
