Executive Summary
DARTMOUTH ANTIOXIDANT/COLON CANCER STUDY RESULTS do "not account for the multi-step nature of cancer," Robert Bostick, MD, Bowman Gray School of Medicine, said in a Sept. 19 presentation at the Council for Responsible Nutrition's annual conference. While calling the study by Dartmouth School of Medicine researchers on the effects of beta carotene and vitamins C and E on colorectal cancer an "excellent study" in terms of design, Bostick asserted that "it does not tell us whether antioxidants can prevent colon cancer."
