Executive Summary
VITAMIN E STUDY ON ROLE IN PREVENTING PROSTATE CANCER was suggested by Philip Taylor, MD, National Cancer Institute, cancer prevention studies branch chief at the 1994 Clinical Research Meeting in Baltimore on May 2. Commenting on the findings of NCI's Alpha-Tocopherol, Beta Carotene (ATBC), Cancer Prevention Study that were published in the April 14 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine ("The Tan Sheet" April 18, pp. 1-4), the ATBC researcher recommended that other researchers "follow up on the most promising cancer prevention lead from the trial" by testing the "hypothesis in other [clinical] trials."
