Executive Summary
Bureau of Labor Statistics' Producer Price Index for nonprescription pharmaceutical prices rose .6% in the first quarter of 1994 ended March 31. Decongestants (up 1.3%) and antacids (up 1.2%) showed the biggest price gains among the product categories tracked by the BLS. Vitamin prices at the producer level fell .5% in the first quarter, Price increases for B-complex vitamins (up 1.4%) and "other" vitamins (up 1.7%) were outweighed by a 1.9% decline in the price index for adult vitamins
