VITAMIN E SHOWS PREVENTIVE BENEFIT AGAINST PROSTATE CANCER IN SMOKERS in a study of more than 29,000 Finnish males published in the April 14 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine. The Alpha-Tocopherol, Beta Carotene Cancer Prevention Study found a statistically significant 34% reduction in the incidence of prostate cancer among men supplemented with 50 mg alpha-tocopherol (vitamin E) daily.
