John Dingell (D-Mich.) in a recent letter to Senate Labor & Human Resources Committee Chair Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) that prompted the latest round of Hill negotiations on dietary supplement legislation. In asking for Kennedy's help "to bring this matter to a close," Dingell characterized the "current situation" as "unacceptable" and said it "could degenerate further into a serious problem." Dingell asked for the senator's commitment to devoting "whatever effort is needed to accomplish a resolution" of supplement legislation.
