Executive Summary
ASPIRIN USE MAY BE ASSOCIATED WITH DECREASED CANCER RISK based on an analysis of data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey I (NHANES I) and the NHANES I Epidemiologic Follow-Up Studies (NHEFS). In a study published in the March issue of Epidemiology, Dina Schreinemachers and Richard Everson, Health Effects Research Laboratory of the Environmental Protection Agency, noted that the data in NHANES I and NHEFS "suggest an association between aspirin consumption and decreased cancer incidence at several cancer sites."
