Mouthwash CRPs

Executive Summary
"CPSC commissioners voted at Nov. 3 meeting in support of the "intent" of a February petition submitted by 29 attorneys general requesting child-proof caps for mouthwash products containing more than 5% alcohol ("The Tan Sheet" March 1, p. 11). However, CPSC said the proposal, expected by spring 1994, may differ from suggestions in the petition and that CPSC may decide that a formal regulation is unnecessary due to industry self-regulation. NDMA and CTFA proposed a voluntary industry CRP program for mouthwashes with more than 5% alcohol in June ("The Tan Sheet" June 7, p. 17).
