Senate passes by unanimous consent on Nov. 24 the Domestic Chemical Diversion Control Act (HR 3216), clearing the bill for Presidential signing. The measure expands Drug Enforcement Agency authority to control the distribution of legal drugs (including OTC asthma drugs containing ephedrine) that are used in the manufacture of illegal street drugs ("The Tan Sheet" Nov. 15, In Brief).
