Executive Summary
Federal Trade Commission charges in federal district court that Earth Bound has made false and unsubstantiated claims for its algae-based food supplement, Imuno-Plex. FTC charged that the company has promoted the supplement as "a treatment or cure" for HIV disease, AIDS, AIDS-related complex and their symptoms since at least January 1993. FTC is seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to halt the company's marketing of the product as well as a permanent injunction and redress for consumers, who reportedly paid $ 195 for a month's supply of the product.
