National Nutritional Foods Association announces Aug. 30 that it will introduce "periodic analysis for lead levels in calcium supplements" as part of its self-regulating TruLabel program ("The Tan Sheet" July 26, p. 4). The NNFA initiative is in response to an article appearing in the August issue of American Journal of Public Health, which found that 25% of 70 calcium supplements tested exceeded total daily lead intake for children aged six and under ("The Tan Sheet" Aug. 16, p. 8). . . .
