Executive Summary
"OTC feedback" meeting has been scheduled for Aug. 25 to discuss a case-control study protocol examining whether PPA in OTC diet aids and cough/cold remedies is associated with an increased risk of hemorrhagic stroke. Expected to attend is a contingent from the Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association, including representatives from Ciba Consumer and Thompson Medical. A protocol for the NDMA-sponsored study was submitted to the agency in March ("The Tan Sheet" March 15, p. 8). The meeting begins at 10 a.m. in the Maryland Conference Room of FDA's Parklawn Building.
