Executive Summary
Generic firm's NMC Laboratories subsidiary gains FDA approval for an ANDA covering clotrimazole 1% cream for the treatment of vaginal yeast infections. In a July 23 announcement, A.L. Labs noted that NMC's clotrimazole is the "only generic equivalent to" Schering-Plough's Gyne-Lotrimin. NMC expects to begin marketing the clotrimazole product in the fourth quarter. NutraMax also is slated to begin shipping a private label clotrimazole cream and insert in the late fall under a deal with an undisclosed supplier ("The Tan Sheet" July 12, In Brief).
