Vaccines program gets $300 mil.
Executive Summary
A total of $300 million in Recovery Act funds will be allocated to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Sec. 317 grant program, the main source of funding for state and jurisdictional immunization programs, Vice President Joe Biden announced April 9. Most of the funding will be targeted to programs for making CDC-purchased vaccines available to states and territories. Approximately $18 million in grants will be designated for innovative approaches to increasing immunizations with the childhood vaccine series, zoster vaccine and influenza vaccine, and for improving reimbursement practices
