6,300 U.S. pharmacies will distribute substance abuse prevention information sheets advising consumers of highly abused prescription drugs and how to store and dispose of drugs such as hydrocodone, sleep aids and oxycodone (Purdue Pharma's OxyContin and generics) to mitigate abuse. Consumers are advised to dispose of unused medications by mixing them in old coffee grounds or used kitty litter.
