UnitedHealth Part D exec to depart
Executive Summary
Lois Quam, executive VP and president of the Public and Social Markets Group, is leaving the company to join investment banking and securities firm Piper Jaffray. She will be succeeded at United by Anthony Welters, previously president, CEO and co-founder of AmeriChoice, an administrator of public sector health care programs acquired by United in 2002. Quam, who has been with United for 18 years, led the start up of the company's market-leading Medicare Part D program. Also leaving United is Richard Anderson, exec VP and president of the Commercial Services Group.
