RotaTeq recommended
Executive Summary
Merck's rotavirus vaccine RotaTeq was recommended for use by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices Feb. 21. The committee voted 12-0 with two abstentions for routine immunization of infants with three doses of the oral vaccine to be administered at two, four and six months of age. CDC analysis found that RotaTeq was not cost effective at the published price of $62 per dose, but could be cost effective at $42 per dose.
