Legislation that would provide opportunity for three-year patent extension for allergy drug loratadine and six other "pipeline" products that were under review when Waxman/Hatch was enacted in 1984 will be marked up by the Senate Judiciary Committee the week of Nov. 8. "Drug Patent Term Restoration Review Procedures Act" (S 1172) sponsor Torricelli (D-N.J.) requested during a Nov. 4 committee markup that the bill be considered.
