VACCINE VIAL BARCODING TO MAINTAIN IMMUNIZATION LEVELS URGED as part of an automated vaccine delivery system by Minnesota Department of Health epidemiologist Michael Osterholm, PhD, at a hearing before the Senate Appropriations/Labor & HHS Subcommittee July 16. "What this would allow you to do...is take some of the confusion out of which vaccine [a child] has been using," Osterholm explained. An automated system would then be able to "print out for you a program [stating] what are the appropriate immunizations you would need to minimize the number of injections," he continued.
