Premier/Mallinckrodt expand imaging agent supply agreement; J&J/Premier sign supplier deal.

MALLINCKRODT/PREMIER SUPPLY LINK ADDS NUCLEAR IMAGING AGENTS to the list of Mallinckrodt imaging agents covered by sole-source contracts with Premier. The firms announced a new five-year agreement on Feb. 12 under which Mallinckrodt will supply radiopharmaceuticals and related accessories to the Premier health care alliance. The deal is expected to increase Mallinckrodt's annual business with Premier members by up to $100 mil. -- several times the current level, Mallinckrodt says. An April 1996 agreement already covers the supply of contrast media used with x-ray and other imaging modalities.
