Former Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America Senior VP-Medical & Regulatory Affairs John Beary, MD, has assumed the new title of senior VP-drug regulatory affairs. PhRMA describes the change as a result of "our recent strategic planning exercise" which clarified "that our top priority in 1997 is renewal of the Prescription Drug User Fee Act and improvement of FDA." As a result, "Beary has volunteered to focus his energies at PhRMA more intensively on drug regulatory affairs, particularly renewal of PDUFA and the International Conference on Harmonization," PhRMA said.
