Novartis U.S. Rx manufacturing: primary facility will be in Suffern, N.Y.

NOVARTIS U.S. Rx MANUFACTURING WILL BE BASED IN SUFFERN, N.Y. following the merger of Ciba and Sandoz, the companies announced Oct. 17. The Ciba manufacturing site in Suffern will be expanded to absorb the majority of the prescription manufacturing operations currently handled by Ciba's facility in Summit, N.J. and Sandoz' plant in East Hanover, N.J. As the plant is expanded over the next four to five years, manufacturing employment will increase from about 560 to about 785.
