BRISTOL PLATINOL (CISPLATIN) BASIC PATENT RUNS TO MAY 8, 2012 following the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 5,562,925 for the compound on Oct. 8. The patent was granted by the Patent & Trademark Office to Tucson, Ariz.-based Research Corporation Technologies, which licenses the patent to Bristol. Cisplatin is already protected by a use patent which expires Dec. 4.
