DRUG SAMPLE DISPENSING IS SUBJECT OF FDA WARNING LETTER TO ECKERD PHARMACY in High Point, N.C. sent June 3. The agency "determined that this pharmacy has been selling prescription drug samples to the public," the warning letter says. Five of 40 tablets in a prescription dispensed to an undercover FDA investigator in January by the High Point pharmacy were marked "SAMPLE."
