CIBA VOLTAREN-XR TO BE LAUNCHED APRIL 11 AT $2.32 PER DAY AWP, placing the once-daily formulation of diclofenac sodium in the mid-range of costs for treating arthritis with older diclofenac formulations. Voltaren-XR will cost $232 for 100-count 100 mg tablet bottles. Diclofenac sodium extended-release tablets for chronic therapy of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis were approved March 8 ("The Pink Sheet" March 18, T&G-1).
