SENATOR-ELECT WYDEN WILL PURSUE FDA REFORM and other health related issues from his new Senate seat. Wyden (D-Ore.) will fill the seat of retired Sen. Packwood (R) following his victory in a Jan. 30 special election. Wyden's term runs through 1998. In his 15 years in the House, Wyden participated in numerous FDA and pharmaceutical industry debates. Most recently, he introduced the first comprehensive FDA reform bill in 1995.
