MEDCO SMOKING CESSATION MANAGEMENT NICOTINE PATCH IS MAIL-ORDER ONLY, materials from Merck's pharmacy benefits management subsidiary state. Medco prefers that plans adopting the program also be formulary clients, but "this is not a requirement." Marion Merrell Dow's Nicoderm is the preferred product on the Medco formulary. Staggered rollout of the "Smoking Cessation Patient Support Program" began in November 1994. Medco aims to send announcements to 1 mil. plan members and to enroll 10,000 patients.
