UMC ASTHMA CLINIC REDUCES EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS FROM 92 TO SIX in a cohort of 25 patients enrolled in an asthma clinic at the University Medical Center in Jacksonville, Fla., according to a study presented by Manchester, Tenn. pharmacist Timothy Pauley at an Oct. 19 seminar during the NARD annual meeting in Boston. The study compared the total number of emergency department visits by the 25 clinic patients during the six months prior and six months subsequent to initiation of the program on Dec. 16, 1992. Pauley completed his pharmacy residency at UMC and served as the clinic's director.
