Syringe caps and oral liquid medications

American Pharmaceutical Association sends out letter to pharmacists May 10 noting that the association "is concerned that the incorrect use of standard hypodermic syringes during administration of oral liquid medications to infants and children may create significant risk of aspiration or ingestion of the plastic caps." APhA plans to send pharmacists patient counseling information to help prevent such incidents.
