Executive Summary

SUPERMARKET PHARMACIES WILL INCREASE NUMBER OF OUTLETS BY 15% during 1994, according to responses from 95 food/drug operators to a survey conducted by the Food Marketing Institute. The 95 responding supermarket chains have just under 4,000 pharmacy units. Based on the projected 15% increase in pharmacy units, those chains will have about 4,600 by the end of this year. Kroger Company Third Party and Pharmacy Procurement Manager Roger Fogle reported the survey results on April 18 at FMI's seventh annual pharmacy conference in San Francisco.
