PENNSYLVANIA MEDICAID MANAGED CARE PROGRAM FOR 620,000 RECIPIENTS is mandated to save the state 9% of its current Medicaid spending. Medicaid beneficiaries in six counties in the Philadelphia area, who represent about 40% of the state medical assistance population of 1.6 mil., will be put into managed care under Pennsylvania's HealthChoices program. The managed care program is scheduled to go into effect Dec. 1, 1994, with full implementation expected by next March.
