Schering-Plough’s Imdur
Executive Summary
Extended-release isosorbide mononitrate approved Aug. 12 for prevention of angina due to coronary artery disease. Scheduled for an October launch, Imdur is the first once-a-day oral nitrate therapy. Isosorbide nitrate levels are sustained over 12 hours with the product, compared to other oral nitrate products which must be given every seven hours. Imdur will be available in 60 mg tablets to be "priced competitively with existing long-acting nitrate formulations," Schering said.
