Verelan
Executive Summary
FDA approves 180 mg dosage form of the once-daily calcium channel blocker (verapamil hydrochloride) treatment for hypertension. Verelan was introduced in July 1990 and is already available in 240 mg and 120 mg capsules. The new dosage form, to be marketed in bottles of 100, provides more flexibility in titrating patient doses, according to Lederle and Wyeth-Ayerst, the U.S. marketers.
