To build new 40-50,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant at Groton headquarters site. The new highly automated facility, for which Pfizer has committed $20 mil. for engineering design and initial purchase of equipment, will be used for the organic synthesis of Zithromax and Zoloft, and to scale up products from the firm's central research facility. Pfizer expects to have the plant up and running in 1994.
