DEA Schedule I/Schedule II 1992 production quotas
Executive Summary
DEA's list for 1992 contains proposed quotas for 36 Schedule II controlled substances and 10 Schedule I controlled drugs. For the Schedule II drug, hydrocodone, DEA proposed a production level of 3,891,000 grams, 220,000 grams less than the antitussive/analgesic's 1991 quota ("The Pink Sheet" Feb. 4, In Brief). The 1992 quota for another Schedule II drug, fentanyl is 48,500 grams, 2,000 grams more than the drug's 1991 level. The proposed quota provides for 4,937,000 grams of morphine (for sale), 929,000 grams more than the amount in 1991, and allows for 63,726,000 grams of codeine (for sale), 6,819,000 grams more than in 1991. The DEA announced the proposed quotas in the Aug. 8 Federal Register.
